The time is the early 1970’s. The life is Joe Smith’s; his was a lonely existence until Nika entered into it. She was a Russian immigrant only in this country until Joe could no longer endure any more of her good deeds. His love for her made him bury in the back yard of his mind any notion of sending her back to Russia, also buried there was the outcome of these good deeds, robbery, prostitution, kidnapping, oh yeah and getting the mafia involved in his life. Ernie his best friend, and probably his only friend, was a settling influence on his life, at least that’s what Joe liked to believe. In reality Ernie only added to the mayhem sneaking around with Shamira, his “Vinyl Lovely”. Joe is not completely innocent in all this; he does his share of adding to the chaos. In the end somehow it all comes together.
